Soo I'm back in school.

I get to learn some neat things, see my friends, and stop feeling so useless and lazy. That means less time for Gaiaonline- my addiction. It's alright though. I'm oddly positive this year (my junior year by the way) and I honestly think things are going to be great. One of the school plays is going to be Macbeth and I have a feeling I have a good shot at Lady Macbeth considering there are no female senior actors and I have been participating in community plays so I have more experience than any other junior girl that may try out. Humanities is proving to be a nice, easy, thought-provoking class, though Trig is scaring me a little bit. I may review some old algebra notes. I have PE with my boyfriend which makes that the first class I've had with him for a long time. I end the day with Honors English III which will be challenging to say the least, but hopefully I'll get some fun out of it.
NOW--- to post my first assignment given by my Humanities teacher.
He gave us really little to go with. He told us to answer the question, "what is the meaning of life?" It can be as long or short as we want, and in some part he'd like us to say if we believe in God or not. But that's totally optional. Here's mine:
The purpose of life is to live. Why are we here? It sounds silly, but we're here simply to live. It's the experience of life that is God's gift to us. Hurting people, getting hurt by people, laughing and crying are all part of the journey. I don't think too much about why we, as humans, are here. Thinking about it doesn't change the fact that we ARE here, and it also doesn't change the end result. I DON'T think we're all part of a big plan. For all we know, God is a power-hungry child who created us out of boredom and wants to see how far he can push us until we break. I don't know, and I'm not going to pretend that I do. Maybe we're just test subjects and he wants to see if giving a species free-will will eventually lead to self-destruction. Whether we evolved from smaller organisms or were zapped here by God- I don't know or particularly care. You can argue and believe whatever you want, but neither view is one-hundred percent truth, nor is it credible. And I'm not one to blindly follow something. If I were to go to church, I'd be the one questioning the pastor on the way home. So, I quietly practice my religion at night by praying. I pray that my loved ones are protected and thank Him for all of the good things in my life. I believe that it is important to believe something. Personally, I think God is more of a conscience, the "presence of good" if you will. There is no old man with a long, white beard and holiness radiating off of his skin sitting in the clouds watching over us. But rather, a voice in your head that tells you not to go down that dark alleyway or to return that lost wallet. However, my belief in God doesn't particularly change the meaning or purpose to my life. I think that, in general, people just want to be happy. the meaning of life can be different for every single person. Generally, to have goals and accomplish them before you die. The meaning in my life might be to learn a bunch of languages and visit many different places with a charming, faithful, loving husband and have a family of my own. Someone else might want to be a movie star and never have kids, and so on and so forth. In fact, the meaning of life might just be to FIND meaning in your life.
